The Plateau State House of Assembly today 15th February, 2018 consented to the “not too young to run”, Local Government Autonomy and other bills passed by the National Assembly that needs their assent.

Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), CYPA and some Civil Society Organizations all across the State were at the Assembly complex to ensure smooth passage of the Bill in the ongoing Constitutional amendments.

Leaders of the Unions and Civil Organizations expressed happiness for the smooth passage of the Bills without any hitch.

They thanked the Plateau State House of Assembly for doing the will of the people.

NULGE Chairman Plateau State Chapter, Cmr. Samson Mafuyai who spoke after the passage of the Local Government Autonomy Bill thanked members for the good turn out, how civil they were,

said he is fulfilled and said the feelings of his members can be seen physically. They are happy and this will bring positive developments to the Local Government Area which is the nearest government to the people. We look forward to seeing positive transformation at the grassroots. We thank the State Assembly for thinking alike with the people they represents. I am fulfilled and extremely happy he concluded.

Executive Director of CYPA, Mr. Chris Iyama express satisfaction with the passage of the not too young to run Bill. He said as an advocate of youth representation and inclusion in political leadership he is happy with the legislators for not disappointing the youth.

Other people present also expressed satisfaction with the Plateau State House of Assembly for passing the Bills. They said members of the Assembly have written their names in gold and made history.
