Ogugu, Kogi State
A significant chapter in the traditional history of the Okpanachi family was written on *Saturday, 8th August, 2026*, with the coronation of *Chief Nigeria Okpanachi* as *Odoma OCHOGWU*.
The coronation ceremony was performed by the *Ochogwu of Ogugu, HRH Chief Isaiah Isiaka Akoh*, in an event marked by rich displays of Igala heritage and culture.
Chief Okpanachi succeeds his late father, who held the Odoma title until his passing. The late patriarch also served meritoriously as the *District Head of Unyi-Ogugu*, where he contributed immensely to the leadership and development of the community.
The emergence of his son as Odoma OCHOGWU represents an important continuation of a family tradition rooted in leadership, service, and community development.
Beyond his traditional responsibilities, Chief Nigeria Okpanachi is a respected figure in the business community. He is the *Founder and Chief Executive Officer of One Nigeria Properties Limited, Abuja, a reputable enterprise in the property sector.
The historic occasion attracted a distinguished gathering of traditional leaders, community stakeholders, relatives, associates, friends, and well-wishers who joined the family to celebrate the milestone.
For Chief Okpanachi, the title represents not only an honour but also a sacred responsibility to uphold the dignity of the traditional institution and to promote peace, unity, and sustainable development in Ogugu and beyond.
His coronation symbolically connects two generations — a father who served diligently as Odoma and District Head of Unyi-Ogugu, and a son now entrusted with carrying forward the Odoma OCHOGWU legacy.
