The Newly Inaugurated Chairman of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), Hon. Plangji Daniel Cishak, the Secretary Barr. Pam Gyang Davou and other Members of the Commission on Tuesday 11th June, 2024 assumed Office at the Commission’s Headquarters No 7 John Mark Samci Road, Jos with a laudable commendation to the Staff of the Commission for their exceptional maintenance culture urging them to keep it up and improve in order to safeguard the property of the commission.
The New Chairman, Hon. Plangji Cishak appreciated the Governor of Plateau State for finding them worthy of the appointments and assured that they will justify the confidence reposed in them with exceptional performance.
He admonished the staff of the Commission to be ready to work diligently and with uncompromising integrity to take the Commission to enviable height.
He emphasized the need for teamwork by all Staff and Appointees to achieve the overall mandate of the commission which is to conduct credible Local Government Elections in Plateau State in accordance with set rules, guidelines and world best practices as well as to contribute to the growth of democratic ideals in Plateau State and impact positively on democracy in Nigeria.
According to him, team spirit and staff cooperation are key to achieving objectives of any Organization.
He hinted that attention will be given to areas of the Commission in need of same and said the New Appointees are ready to ensure that the right things are being done and the right policies pursued for the common good of the State.
He decried the state of some facilities and equipment in the Commission which he said require urgent intervention.
He assured the Staff of conducive and friendly working environment so they can perform their assigned roles well.
The New Officials who were warmly received by Staff of the Commission on ground led by the Director of Administration, Fuandai Abel and were taken round the Commission for assessment of the offices and other facilities.
They later had a closed-door meeting with the Staff of the Commission.
On Monday 10th June, 2024 the Executive Governor of Plateau State swore in New Officials for the State Electoral Umpire with Hon. Plangji Cishak as Chairman and Barr. Pam Gyang Davou Secretary of the Commission while Hon. Ado Audu Adare, Hon. Theresa Kaze, Hon. Deborah Akanle, Hon. Audu Dorzhi, Hon. Waziri Kwande and Dr. Longman Godfrey Pensiwan are Members.
