60 Days of Impactful Representation: Hon. Matthew Kwarpo Commission Projects, Empowers Women

To mark his Sixty Days in Office and the 2024 Democracy Day, the Member representing Mangu South Constituency at the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Sylvanus Kwarpo on 12th June, 2024 commissioned projects he executed which he said have direct impact to the People across the Constituency.

The commissioning started at Mangun District were the Member commissioned Lock-up Shops to enhance economic activities in the Community.
The next point of call was Kerang District where the Legislator commissioned a borehole to provide portable drinking water to the People.

From Kerang District, it was the turn of Chisu Village of Bwai District where the Lawmaker flanked by his Wife and entourage defied the bad roads to commission the renovation of Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Church Council 2 Chisu Auditorium and the Miskagham Chisu Palace which was razed down by terrorists.

The Team still in high spirit stormed Mangu Local Government Area Headquarters where Hon. Matthew Kwarpo empowered 300 Women with financial assistance to ameliorate their sufferings.

In all the communities visited, the Lawmaker and his entourage visited the District Heads’ Palaces to intimate them on the visit and to seek royal blessings.

In all the places visited, the Lawmaker appreciated the people for the opportunity to serve and for their unwavering support. He affirmed his commitment to executing people-oriented projects and programmes that will have direct impact on the People and community.
He said the projects are product of thorough needs assessment to ensure that they meet the yearnings of the benefiting Communities and the People.
He stated that “Politics is about touching the lives of the People and that is what I have in mind to continue to provide dividends of democracy to my People. I want to assure you that whatever belongs to Mangu South will come directly to them because I have vowed to be a loyal Servant and Messenger of the People of Mangu South Constituency who by God’s providence I am representing. Be assured of quality and credible representation at all times”
He admonished the People to embrace peaceful coexistence and harmonious living. He said God is aware of their experiences and will take vengeance at the right time.
According to the Lawmaker, the initiative of ensuring the Village Head Palace is completed is in line with the resettlement plans of the Present administration in the State under the leadership of Governor Caleb Mutfwang whose desire he said is to achieve the resettlement of Displaced Persons to their ancestral lands.
He lauded the resilience of the People in the face of daunting security and economic challenges being faced.

He said God has been with him since he assumed office 60 Days ago. He appreciated Gov. Mutfwang and the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly who he said have been supportive to him.
He urged the People of the Communities visit and Plateau State to support Gov. Mutfwang who he said has better plans for the State as seen in his achievements within one Year in Office.

The District and village Heads of the Communities were on ground to receive the Lawmaker and his team. They commended him for initiative people-oriented projects and prayed God to guide him to do more. They urged the State government to come to their aid by constructing the Mangu to Bwai Road to ease the hardship faced by the People due to the bad road.

The projects were applauded by the benefiting Communities and the Citizens who offered special prayer to the Lawmaker.

Other notable projects and initiatives carried out by Hon. Matthew Sylvanus Kwarpo include but not limited to the rehabilitation of Community Secondary School in Fomulam, restoration of electricity and fencing of transformer in Jwakkom and Mangu Low-cost Housing and lobbying the deployment of Agro Rangers Special Force to Ampang Ward to tackle insecurity.
Others are training of internally displaced persons in different skills; provision of Pilgrimage Forms to Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Mangu Ministers’ Forum and Two Pastors in the Constituency and support for the roofing of Kwa Community Primary School.

He was also able to install Solar Street Lights in Mangu Halle Ward, Bwonpe Ward, Ampang Ward, Jipal Ward and Chakfem Ward.
