A cross section of youths on the Plateau have applauded the Mhiship PDP Youth Vanguard for recognizing and nominating Mr. Edmond Zungdet to serve as a Commissioner in the Plateau State Executive Cabinet of Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang. The Youths described Mr. Zungdet as a good man who has been consistent and loyal to the PDP right from inception. He has been deeply involved and instrumental to cohesion and participation of the youths in politics. They said this nomination if considered will not only serve the interest of Pankshin LGA , but the entire state, as Mr. Zungdet has always played the role of a unifier among various Youth Groups in the state.

The Youths were reacting to an earlier call by the Mhiship PDP Youth Vanguard in a letter dated 16th June, 2023 and signed by Hon. Panshak Dabet, Arch. Nankling Kuyap and Mr. Dennis Nankhat which was addressed to the State Chairman and copied to the Local Government and ward chairmen said “they nominated Mr Edmond Zungdet because he is an astute academician, seasoned lecturer with the Plateau State Polytechnic and also a selfless leader whose commitment to the party, philanthropy and service-driven leadership persona, saw him being appointed as the Director General of Greater Together; the Youth Wing of late Senator GNS Pwajok and Arch. Yilji Gomwalk Campaign organization.
They said, given his track record of human capital development, consistency in PDP and also the role he played as Chairman, Youth Advisory Council of the Atiku/Okowa and Mutfwang/Piyo Campaign Council he should be considered for the Commissioner slot of Pankshin LGA. Accordingly, that commissioner slot will not only service the interest of Pankshin South or Pankshin LGA, but the entire Plateau Youth because he understands the yearnings and aspirations of young people and can harness their potentials for the betterment of the State.

They therefore made a passionate appeal to the party and the governor to consider Mr Zungdet for the position.”
When contacted for his opinion on the nomination, Mr. Edmond Zungdet appreciated the youths for their nomination and kind words on his person, but he said the youths should also put the present administration in their prayers considering the numerous challenges that were inherited from the previous administration and also the security challenges.
