Today, Monday June 19th 2023 is the birthday of the Executive Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, (JP). Birthday felicitations are already pouring in as expected.

Amb Elvis Akpobi, Executive Director of the NotTooYoungToLead Initiative has added his voice to those extending their birthday felicitations to the Delta State Governor.

In a statement personally issued by Amb Elvis Akpobi and made available to this medium on Monday 19th June 2023 in Asaba the Delta State Capital, he said that “…birthday celebrations are a reminder of the opportunity given to every human to make an impact while alive..”

He added that this, being the first birthday celebration of Rt Hon Sheriff as Governor and hence should be celebrated by all well meaning citizens of Delta State.

While wishing the him long life and prosperity, Amb Akpobi noted that the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, (JP) has indeed lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation by young people, adding that his rise provides an inspirational guide for success.

According Amb Akpobi, Hon. (Chief) Sheriff Oborevwori is a man who had always availed himself to serve others even in the face of daunting challenges, and his rise in the political ranks in a model that the NotTooYoungToLead Initiative encourages young people to follow, especially to ensure they participate in leadership and decision-making.

This was why his people had no hesitation when they elected him as Councilor in 1996, and he was subsequently appointed the Supervisory Councilor for Works in Okpe Local Government Council.

Meanwhile, he was the pioneer Chairman of Osubi Community from 1996 to 2003. Following his developmental strides in Osubi Community as well as other contributions to peace and security, he was given the Chieftaincy title of the UKODO of Okpe Kingdom in 2003, by His Royal Majesty, the Orhorho 1, Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.

Governor Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, (JP) who turns 60 years today is the immediate past Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Haven discharged his duty satisfactorily, he contested and won the Governorship seat of Delta State under the Platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the recently concluded March 18th 2023 Governorship Elections.

Amb Elvis Akpobi has been advocating for youths to be involved in governance and decision making because they have the qualities to present durable inputs in governance.

NotToYoungToLead Initiative is active in five countries in Africa which include Rwanda, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Morocco and Nigeria.
