The National Coordinator of Prayer Force Network, Amb. John Pofi has described the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as a crisis following the violence that erupted in the State on account of government directive on the compulsory use of hijab in Schools in the State.
His statement reads;
JOHN POFI CHIDES GOVERNOR OF KWARA, CALLS HIM A CRISIS MERCHANT.
Nigeria today is taking a barbaric dimension where every body does what pleases him or her without any consequences whatsoever.
This trend when allowed unabated, will push the country to meeting the requirements of a failed state though we are not far from there.
I am saying this because of what is happening in Ilorin, Kwara state.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who is fully aware of the subsisting judgement about the use of hijab in government funded christian schools, declared a date of resumption without taking necessary steps, without resolving the contentious issues, he was in a haste to reopen the schools since his trade in stock is to cause crisis and derive evil benefits from it.
What the governor has done is barbaric, precarious, and is the height of bigotry which if allowed unchecked will spark up religious crisis in some parts of the country.
As the National Coordinator of the Prayer Force Network, I will not keep quiet when a section of the Christendom is being maligned, harassed, maltreated, dehumanised, sidelined and pushed to the wall just because of their faith.
If I don’t talk, I should be ready to accept the harsh but fair verdict of posterity.
Although I am sure the president is himself not in good condition to call any bigot to order because he himself is the most dangerous bigot in the land, but for the sake of putting records straight and for the sake of posterity, I wish to call on the president and commander in chief of the armed forces, Muhammadu Buhari, to quickly call the governor of Kwara state to order before it is too late.
What he is doing, may bring this country to its knees if every governor decides to stand with the people who profess the same faith with him.
Like the old saying goes, a stitch in time saves nine.
Amb. John Pofi, JP
National Coordinator, Prayer Force Network.
