A group of vibrant Youths across Nigeria under the auspice of Yahaya Bello Network (YBN) stormed Jos, the Plateau State Capital on Thursday 14th October, 2021 to engage the youths on the need to increase political participation and involvement.
National Coordinator of the Group, Cmr. Abdul Amart who was flanked by other National Executives stormed the Venue of the Town hall meeting which held at Lamonde Hotel Conference Hall Apollo Crescent Jos, Plateau State in a grand style and was received by Youths.
While fielding questions from Journalists shortly after the event the National Secretary of the Group, Mr. Salisu Mohammed said they were in Jos, the Plateau State Capital as part of the group’s plan to tour the entire Country to engage the public especially the youth population on the need for them to participate in politics and get involved in the governance process. He said they will work to ensure the full actualization of the “not too young to run” law that has been signed and threw his weight behind the electronic transmission of election results since the electoral umpire, INEC has the capacity to do so.
He called on Nigerians to elected leaders based on competence, integrity, content and credibility devoid of any form of unhealthy sentiments. He said the Country is in dire need of Leaders who will shape it and guarantee a more united, safer, secured and prosperous Nation.
He said the youths have vital roles to play in changing the ugly political narratives obtainable in the Country.
He hinted that as a group, having followed the antecedents of the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello and his pedigree, they are calling on him to contest for the Presidency in 2023.
He said the Governor has demonstrated his love for the uplifting of the youths and building them, hence they need for him to do more when given higher responsibility.
“We are calling on him to contest, though he hasn’t answered us but we will not stop. We want more youths to pressurize and prevail on him” he said.
The event featured performances by upcoming Artistes in Plateau State who thrilled the Guests with their talents.
