Workers Day: Rep. Mwadkwon Salutes Commitment, Resilience & Patriotism of Nigeria’s Workers

The Honorable Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency Plateau State, Rep. Simon Mwadkwon, Ph.D has lauded the resilience, commitment and patriotism being exhibited by Nigerian Workers to Nation building.

Rep. Mwadkwon said the roles played by Nigerian workers to the growth and development of the Nation are commendable.

“May Day is a day set aside globally to celebrate the immense contributions of our unsung heroes – workers” Rep. Dr. Simon Mwadkwon said.

The Federal Lawmaker posited that the contributions of workers to National unity, peace, harmony, cohesion and prosperity can never go unnoticed.

The Legislator urged workers to remain optimistic and positive for a greater Nation.

“Do not relent, stay positive and continue to contribute your quota to the wellbeing of the Nation”

“I wish to call on government at all levels to make the welfare and health of workers their priorities” he said.

Rep. Mwadkwon commended frontline health practitioners for their uncommon zeal, enthusiasm, passion, genuine patriotism, efforts and the roles they are playing in the fight against COVID-19 Pandemic, urging government to introduce beneficial insurance package that will take care of them.
While praying for the repose of the souls of deceased frontline health workers, Dr. Mwadkwon admonished government to provide necessary interventions to the families they left behind.

He appreciated the role of security agencies in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and charged them to be more professional and proactive as well as maintain greater surveillance at border entry points with the inter-state restriction imposed Nationally with effect from 4th May, 2020.

Rep. Mwadkwon further admonished workers to strictly adhere to all preventive measures advised by health experts and government directives aimed at fighting COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the fight against the dreaded coronavirus is a collective one and urged the citizen to maintain good personal/respiratory hygiene.

Rep. Mwadkwon prayed for a successful Workers Day celebration in this trying moment of global health challenge.
