In a statement signed by the State Coordinator, Dr. Jophia Nanker Gupar, the group commended the security agencies for their efforts in bringing sanity to the society and called on them to fish out the perpetrators of the various criminal acts in the communities and punished them in accordance with the law so as to deter others from towing such line.

The Plateau State Chapter, Women4Women, He4She, wishes to sympathize with the Government and people of Plateau State on the recent killings of citizens in different communities of Bassa, Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, Jos North, Jos South, Mangu and Riyom local government areas.
We condemn all these killings in totality, and commiserate with the families of all those who lost their love ones during these senseless attacks.
While commending the security agencies for their efforts in bringing sanity to our society, we call on them to fish out the perpetrators of the various criminal acts in our communities and punished them according to the law so as to deter others from towing such line.
As stakeholders in the Plateau project, we use this moment of sober reflection on the recurring cycle of violence in our dear State to call the attention of relevant stakeholders especially the federal and State governments to as a matter of urgency:
i. Compensate all those who have lost their homes and means of livelihood in various attacks in the State.
ii. End further polarization of the Jos/Bukuru metropolis especially the new trend to segregate markets along ethnic and religious lines.
iii. Provide alternative means of transportation to ease the suffering of the masses pending when the ban on the operation of tricycles (keke) will be lifted.
iv. Ensure proper documentation for tricycles operators to curb criminal acts in the metropolis.
v. Ensure adequate water supply in communities to deter criminal elements who may want to disguise as water vendors and unleash mayhem on citizens.
We also appeal to the Executive, Legislators and Judiciary to maintain the peace, work together and find lasting solutions to insecurity, our common problem rather than antagonize one another and further subject the populace to hardship.
We urge women irrespective of religion or tribe to continue in prayers for our dear State and the country at large.
Finally, we appeal to citizens to see the need to coexist peacefully with one another so that development can thrive in our dear State.
Signed:
Dr. Jophia Nanker Gupar
State Coordinator
