The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) announces the Indigent Scholarship Award 2023 scheme to offer financial assistance to indigent students pursuing undergraduate courses at the University of Jos.
The application was announced by the ASUU Labour and Students Relations Committee, University of Jos branch on behalf of the EXCO and Congress. the statement reads. “
The ASUU Labour and Students Relations Committee, University of Jos branch on behalf of ASUU NEC and the University of Jos branch call for applications, for the ASUU Indigent Scholarship Award 2023. ASUU NEC scholarship is at the rate of two hundred thousand Naira (N200,000) and it shall be for two beneficiaries.
Furthermore, the University of Jos branch of ASUU in complimenting the NEC award has also instituted the ASUU UNIJOS Indigent Student Scholarship for five (5) beneficiaries (the branch will pay school fees for a session)“
The Criteria for Award includes:
1. Applicant must be indigent.
2. Applicant must be a registered student
at the University of Jos
3. Applicant must have a good academic performance with a CGPA of 3.0 and Above
Mode of Application
- Each applicant should submit application letter of not more than two pages. Which must include the following:
- Name of candidate
- Course and year of study
- State of origin
Complete application to be submitted on or before Wednesday 25th October 2023 by 4 pm at the ASUU UNIJOS Branch Secretariat Naraguta campus.
Application letters must be accompanied by the following:
- A photocopy of the applicant’s identification card or last school fee receipt.
- A recommendation letter from the applicant’s HOD including information on the applicant’s CGPA for the preceding academic session.
- Photocopy of the applicant’s registration form for the current session.
- Two current passport photographs
