The Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Prof. Sonny Tyoden while speaking at the ongoing Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2016) in Dubai, highlighted the potentials for ICT investments to thrive in Plateau State.

Tyoden said, “We are planning to establish an ICT Park in Jos, the Plateau State capital, and we are ready to partner with world class investors in the project”.

He further noted that Plateau state has an abundant human resource to drive ICT investment in the state.

The Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Isa Pantami while speaking at the African Investment Summit, encouraged the investors and innovators to take advantage of the nation’s huge talents in ICT.

He also said that the Federal Government is determined to increase its revenue earning from other sectors asides the oil sector considering the current oil crisis. He said that ICT has the capacity to increase the revenue earnings of the country.

News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that one of the 16 Nigerian ICT startups participating in GITEX 2016 is from Jos. The startups are set to compete with over 400 other startups from 64 countries.
