The ViewPointNigeria can report that two police officers serving with the Plateau State Police Command were killed at their duty post on Tuesday morning near the University of Jos.

The police officers, whose names and identities are yet to be released, were a sergeant and a Corporal.
Reports reaching us indicate that the deceased were guarding a company near the University of Jos on Bauchi Road, when they were targeted and killed by the hoodlums and their guns/rifles carted away.

Confirming this report, the Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau State, Abu Emmanuel, expressed dismay over the development. He “It is sad that these officers paid the supreme price while trying to protect the citizenry.”

He reiterated the commitment of the police to bring to book the perpetuators of the dastard act.
