TRUCK RAMS INTO BUILDINGS IN SOPP, RIYOM LGA KILLING ONE AND INJURING THREE PERSONS

A sad mishap has occurred this morning involving a Truck believed to be on its way to Abuja which rammed into the House of a Widow, Mrs. Dung Danbwarang in Sopp, Bachi District of Riyom LGA in Plateau State.

The sad mishap happened this morning when the truck lost control and rammed into some houses.

In an online statement by the Plateau Youth Council Chairman, Riyom LGA Cmr. Solomon Pam made available to Viewpoint Nigeria, the truck crash the building built by a widow whose husband, Late Dung Ibrahim Danbwarang was killed in violent crisis two years ago when the village was attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen and their house razed down.

A child of the widow died instantly in the incident while three other persons including the widow’s mother in-law were severely injured and presently receiving medical attention at Vom Christian Hospital.

Another house destroyed by the truck belongs to Mr. Matthew Dadu which at the time of filing this report we were unable to ascertain the level of damage therein.

Cmr. Solomon Pam the PYC Chairman Riyom LGA said the incident is a sad and unfortunate one considering the life lost, those badly injured and the damages to the Houses affected. He prayed God to console the affected family, give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, grant the deceased eternal rest and heal the injured. He went further to call on government and well-spirited individuals to come to the aid of those affected.
