A Tricycle Operator from Ali Kazaure Area of Jos North LGA identified as Mr. Sani Abdullahi who faked his death and others has been arrested by Personnel of Operation Safe Haven.
Mr. Sani was arrested following report by Alh. Abdulsalam Abdullahi of Ali Kazaure that Mr. Sani Abdullahi was killed on his way to convey eggs from a Poultry situated at Angwan Jarawa.
Mr. Sani had earlier claimed that him and two others were attacked and his tricycle snatched while his two Friends were murdered by youths in Angwan Jarawa.
This generated tension in Jos Metropolis which could had led to violent attacks if not for the timely intervention of personnel of Operation Safe Haven to ensure the situation didn’t degenerate into crisis.
The troops alongside other security agencies conducted extensive search around Angwan Jarawa where the alleged killing was reported but nothing was discovered as no information relating to any injured person who reported for treatment in any hospital nor any corpse deposited in any Hospital.
Sani Abdullahi who was reported to have been murdered emerged at Ali Kazaure to the amazement of the people.
He was apprehended and further investigation divulged he had collected the Tricycle from Haj. Amina on hire purchase only for him to perfect plan to retain it without paying reason he claimed the Tricycle was snatched while his Friends were killed.
His intention was to defraud Haj. Amina who sold the tricycle to him on hire purchase basis.
The suspect confessed to had taken the Tricycle to Saminaka Kaduna State for custody which made the Commander Operation Safe Haven, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Ali to direct the retrieval of the Tricycle.
The troops were able to successfully recovered the Tricycle in Saminaka.
The Security outfit said it will carry out more investigation on the Suspect to uncover the identities of his collaborators.
The Commander OPSH while appreciating the community leaders who helped in dousing the tension in Jos metropolis called on members of the public to always report criminal elements in their midst and desist from taking the laws into their hands.
OPSH assured the public of its total commitment to the maintenance of law and order on the Plateau without fear or favour.
