“There Will Be Zero Tolerance on Abscondment of Pilgrims” – NCPC Boss, Bishop Adegbite

The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite has said that under his leadership there would be zero tolerance on abscondment of pilgrims during Pilgrimage.
He made this disclosure in Abuja on Tuesday, 9th April, 2024 during an apostolic visit to the corporate headquarters of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, by the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr Oliver Aba and his apostolic team of Clergy.
” Abscondment is on zero tolerance, we have told ourselves.Anyone find culpable will be sincerely dealt with”, he said.


He assured that the Commission would do everything humanly possible to have a wonderful Pilgrimage experience for the people. According to him, “we will do everything within our part to ensure that we have a wonderful Pilgrimage experience for our pilgrims.”
Bishop Adegbite emphasized that Pilgrimage is not a jamboree, but a spiritual exercise.
He averred that his vision is aligned with the vision of Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, hence he has formally declared this year as a year of “Renewed Hope and Satisfaction” for the Commission.
He assured the No 1 Methodist leader in Nigeria that by the grace of God he would not let God down in the course of his assignment as the NCPC boss.
He affirmed that his commitment in NCPC is beyond pilgrimage; the Commission should serve as a veritable platform to foster peace and unity in Nigeria, stating that ” we must live together in harmony”.


Earlier, the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr Oliver Aba said he was highly elated to pay an apostolic visit to NCPC.
He congratulated Bishop Adegbite for his well deserved appointment as the 4th substantive Executive Secretary of NCPC. He urged him to bring his rich wealth of experience to bear in the Commission in discharging his duties.
He further enjoined him to use his good offices to transform the entire Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria and ensure that abscondment of pilgrims during Pilgrimage is dealt with holistically to avoid tarnishing the image of the country.
Prelate Aba prayed that NCPC should continue to grow in leaps and bounds and should be able to give Nigerians credible service as far as Christian Pilgrimage is concerned.
” As a Methodist man, you will do your work methodically, do not let us down, in your time NCPC will wax stronger and at the end, NCPC will be better than you met it”, he said.
