The ceremony, held at the Louis Edet Hall of the college, was attended by top officials of the Plateau Police Service, family members, and friends of the graduating officers.
The commandant, Police staff College Jos, AIG Adebowale Williams spoke expressively about how the graduands had undergone intensive academic,professional, tactical and practical Police duties for the past twelve (12) weeks . All these trainings were line with the inspector General of Police cardinal point of training and development.
The course Participants were exposed to a mixture of traditional and contemporary approaches to handling extant security challenges through series of lectures from both serving and retired officers, scholars and technocrats. They were also made to experience inter agency collaboration and joint operations, a three weeks joint training exercise godly called “Haske Biu”. All these trainings were conducted alongside officers of the Armed Forces and other para military agencies at the Armed forces command and staff College Jaji, Kaduna State. Another training and study exercise was done at Operation Safe Heaven OPSH Headquarters Jos.
The commandant commended the directing staff and instructors for their exceptional input throughout the training session.
He praised the graduating officers for their hard work and dedication, urging them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their training to enhance the service’s operations. He said ; “Now that you have been groomed,energized and repositioned, I charge you to go out there and make a change. Change in your attitude to the people and community you serve, Change in your cooperation and collaboration with Sister security agencies to maintain peace in your area of responsibility, Change in ensuring a significant improvement in preventive policing through an effective community policing and technical intelligence, Change in ensuring your actions and decisions are not in disrepute of the Force discipline. Lastly,i charge you to always be a good ambassador of this College, Gentlemen Congratulations”.
ACP Paul Chukwu Urom,PSC, course officer,Tactical leadership and command course (TLCC 22/2024) also praised the directing staff for their dedication and hard work in shaping the officers’ minds. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards two extraordinary individuals who played significant roles in shaping their journey. These men of valour are the inspector General of Police, IGP Layode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD Npm and the Commandant Police staff College Jos AIG Adebowale Williams psc(+),fdc.
He congratulated the graduating students, urging them to embrace the opportunities and challenges ahead and make a positive impact . Some excerpts from his speech where; ” As you reflect on this significant milestone, don not forget the support and encouragement you have received from your families, friends and loved ones,who have stood by your side and provided unwavering support throughout this challenging journey, their sacrifices and understanding of the demand of the course have undoubtedly contributed to your success “.
Above and beyond, the ceremony featured the presentation of certificates and awards to deserving officers, recognising their outstanding performances during the training. The police service is a noble profession as such professionalism is a core value.
