Barely 24 hours after over 50 persons were killed in a bomb explosion in Gombe State another two explosions have reportedly hit Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

The twin blasts, which occurred at Phase 1 Eid praying ground, were reportedly detonated by a female suicide bomber.

A hospital source said at least 10 persons have so far been confirmed dead. According to the source at the hospital in Damaturu, many casualties were taken to the health facility and 10 have been confirmed dead.

However, the hospital source, who did not want to be named, said many persons were injured as well.

The affected Eid ground is located at an area called phase-one along Maiduguri Road.

A resident, Malik told our correspondent, “It happened at about 8am. Now we are being asked to return back home.

“Those that had gotten close to the Eid ground said many people were affected.” he explained.
