The Leadership of a group by the name ‘Tarok Youth Vanguard for Good Governance has berated former Youths and Sports Minister Solomon Dalung for launching smear campaign against the member representing Langtang North/South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Beni Lar.

The group advice Mr Dalung to focus on what they have described as “his failed campaigns rather than engage in smear campaigns against Hon. Beni Lar”.
In a statement issued by the National Coordinator of the group, Selcap Steven and made available to this medium on Friday 13th January 2023, the group described Mr Dalung as an inconsistent politician who should not be trusted. They drew attention to the fact that he was once a champion of the current ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration but as soon as he was forced out of the party turned around to be a major accuser of the administration.

The statement added that Mr Dalung was instrumental in peddling what they described as “…wicked lies against the them President Goodluck Jonathan which paved was for the enthronement of the current administration…” Which according to them has brought untold hardship to the people. They accused Mr. Dalung of being completely sidelined by the APC because of his “…erratic behaviour…” leading to his exodus from the APC to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The group warned that they “…will not fold their arms and watch him try to deceive our people again…”, hence their decision to issue the statement to clear the air of misinformation making rounds which according to them was sponsored by Mr Solomon Dalung.

The group listed projects initiated by Mr Solomon Dalung which according to them have since been abandoned. The stressed that the said projects have only brought pains to the people. These include the Sabon Gida Dam which they said caused a disaster that left hundreds of homes and properties worth millions destroyed.

Additionally they drew attention to the Sabon Gida overhead tank brought by Mr Dalung which according to them collapsed due to poor quality leading to loss of a lives. According to them it took the intervention of Hon Beni Lar who provided relief materials, mattresses, foodstuff and even cash donation to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.

The group further accused Mr Dalung of masterminding the cancellation of an entire batch of Plateau recruits who were to be employed into a government paramilitary agency when as Minister, he told the Federal Executive Council that they the recruits were brought in through the back door.

The group lambasted the former Minister for allegedly saying that Hon Beni Lar does not have a single completed project, adding that such accusations as were as a result of Mr Dalung desperation.

The group pointed out that from their findings, Hon. Beni Lar had In the last 16yrs Sponsored the following projects :

Construction of 10 dams.

Built and equipped a Library with furnitures and books in Mabudi

Built standard town halls including the one in Sabon Gida

Constructed roads across the constituency, Solomon Dalung has driven on the road from Pil Gani, Mabudi to Lokang among many other roads.

Influenced 11 Federal Govt. Agencies to the constituency

Over a hundred and fifty boreholes

Built over 60 schools

Helped secure employments to thousands of constituents.

Electrification of many communities and installation of mini power grids.

Built and equipped 8 PHC clinics.

Trained thousands of our women and youths in different skills acquisition programs.

Empowered farmers yearly and sometimes twice a year with trucks of fertilizers, water pumping machines for dry season farming, cartons of herbicides and insecticides.

Empowered women with grinding and sewing machines

Empowered youths with motorcycles

Visited and distributed relief materials to EVERY community that has been affected by natural causes or crises including the ones destroyed by Solomon Dalungs Dam

Stepped in and helped fight for the rights of her constituents.

Hon. Beni Lar has sponsored many bills and moved many important motions.

The group concluded that the people of Langtang North/South Federal Constituency are appreciative of Hon Beni Lar’s strides and will vote massively for her to return to the National Assembly to continue the good works, rather give-in to distractions created by Mr Dalung.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, it has become imperative to address you at this hour regarding the disgraceful statement credited to the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Solomon Dalung against the Hon. Member Represnting Langtang North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assemby, Hon. Beni Lar.

As a pressure group of progressive minded youths in Langtang North and South Local Government, we are interested in good governance in our respective local governments and we stand as watch dogs of our society.

It is amusing to see the Disgraced former Minister for youth and sports Hon. Solomon Dalung make baseless accusation to discredit the sterling performance of the Hon. Member Representing Langtang and South Federal Constituency Hon. Beni Lar.

In a press interview published by reality news, an online news blogging site, Hon. Solomon Dalung claimed that Hon Beni Lar has wasted 16yrs in the National Assembly with nothing to show for it.

We don’t know if the Disgraced former Minister is suffering from a disease that has affected his sight or he is being outrightly mischievous as not to see the developments going on right in his door steps.

It is a known fact that Solomon Dalungs dismal performance as Minister was the major reason he was denied a second term as no serious government will want to have a failure in its cabinet.

Hon Beni Lar due to her impeccable records has been elected to the House of Representatives a record four times and God willing will be elected for the fifth term while Solomon Dalung barely escaped being sacked on his first term in office.

Solomons Dalung projects which he claimed was worth 2billion has brought nothing but pains and agony to the people due to possible shady deals with the contractors. Perhaps ” the monies spended was not well suspended” on the project

Top on the list of Dalungs unfortunate projects is the Sabon Gida Dam that caused a disaster so great it left hundreds of homes destroyed and properties worth millions destroyed. It took the intervention of Hon. Beni Lar to provide relief materials to the people including building materials, mattresses, foodstuff and even cash donations.

Solomon Dalungs dam is the first of many expensive disasters he brought to our people, the second is the overhead tank he constructed in Sabon Gida, due to the poor quality of materials used, the water tank broke and at least a life was lost as a result.

As minister of youth and sports, the mini stadium he built has since been abandoned and in a sorry state. Dalung should tell us how many tarok youths he has facilitated appointments for into the Nigerian supporters club under the ministry he was overseeing

Solomon Dalungs evil intention has led to the cancellation of an entire batch of one of the paramilitary agency recruitment in Plateau State because he maliciously told the federal executive council that jobs were secured for Plateau citizens through the backdoor. Rather than celebrate that Plateau people were getting jobs, he out of outright wickedness made sure no Plateau person was recruited.

Solomon Dalung said Hon Beni Lar doesn’t have any completed projects, indeed there’s no telling the level of desperstion by the disgraced former.

Hon. Beni Lar stands the chance of becoming the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th Assembly. The tarok nation will not risk losing out on this opportunity to Solomon Dalungs anti-progressive rhetoric.

Dalung is inconistent and cannot be trusted politically.
He was once the champion of this government as soon as he was chucked out turned around to be a major accuser of this government. Hypocrisy doesnt pay.
When he was wining and dining with them how come he didnt see the bad side till he decamped to an unknown party the SDP.

The people of Langtang north and South are highly appreciative of her for going out of her way to develop our land, always speaking the Interest of the people and giving many families a means of livelihood through jobs opportunities and varies skill acquisition trainings.

Tarok Land must prosper whether the likes of Solomon Dalung likes it or not.
