Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Kills Two Persons in Jol Riyom LGA, Plateau State

Report reaching Viewpoint Nigeria has it that two persons were killed in the evening of Tuesday 1st May, 2018 in Tashek Hamlet of Jol Ward in Riyom LGA, Plateau State.

The gunmen attacked the village shooting sporadically and killed two (2) persons namely Mr. Jethro Markus and Joshua Yusufu.

The village has been thrown into confusion and mourning mood.

The villagers said they are surprise that such attack took place without any arrest despite the presence of security personnel in the other part of the community.

They said they now live in constant fear and cannot carryout their economic activities as they are constantly being harassed and attacked by Fulani herdsmen who graze indiscriminately on the farmlands with sophisticated weapons.

The people said they are in shock over the attack and killings.

They called on the security personnel to rise up to their responsibility of protecting the villages from attacks and government to show the will power towards ending the monstrous killings which they described as wicked, inhuman, barbaric and callous.

They said the herdsmen go about rearing their cattle with dangerous weapons without being arrest.

It would be recalled that Tarai Village in Jol was attacked last Saturday 28th April, 2018, two persons were wounded with one of the victims, a lady in stable condition while the man was critically injured and presenting receiving medical attention in the hospital.

Two persons were also killed yesterday in fresh attacks in Daffo Bokkos LGA.
