Support Groups of Senator Simon Mwadkwon Champion Governor Mutfwang’s Reelection

Support Groups loyal to the former Senate Minority Leader of the 10th Senate, Senator Simon Mwadkwon, PhD, have unanimously endorsed Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for reelection in 2027.

The endorsement was made on Friday, 4th July 2025, in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, during a gathering of key supporters and stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of the Groups, the Director General of the Senator Simon Mwadkwon Campaign Directorate, Hon. Dalyop Mancha, a two-term Member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Jos South Constituency said the decision followed a thorough and meticulous assessment of Governor Mutfwang’s two years in office. He described the Governor’s tenure as marked by visionary and people-centered leadership, notable infrastructural development, and sound policies and programmes aimed at transforming the state and improving the lives of its citizens.

Hon. Mancha expressed appreciation to Senator Mwadkwon for the opportunity to serve as his Campaign Director General. He also commended the people of Plateau North for voting overwhelmingly for the Senator in the 2023 General Election, where he secured victory across all six Local Government Areas in the Senatorial Zone.

He further praised Senator Mwadkwon’s legislative track record, describing him as a competent and effective representative who served with distinction during his tenures in both the Federal House of Representatives and the Senate.

The endorsement was seconded by Hon. Wilfred Pwajok, Supervisory Councillor for Education, Jos South Local Government Council. He lauded Governor Mutfwang’s pragmatic leadership and pledged full support for his second-term bid.

The Groups vowed to mobilize grassroots support and work tirelessly to ensure Governor Mutfwang’s reelection, citing the Governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and developmental strides across key sectors.

In his remarks, Senator Simon Mwadkwon thanked the Support Groups for their continued loyalty and steadfastness. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving humanity, declaring that his future remains in God’s hands. He urged his supporters to remain civil, issue-based, and decorous in their political engagements, avoiding insults and campaigns of calumny. He stated that he is focused on his own race and not competing with anyone.

Senator Mwadkwon commended Governor Mutfwang’s purposeful leadership, highlighting achievements in transportation, agriculture, education, health, and economic stimulation. According to him, the Governor has shown deliberate efforts to transform Plateau State and uplift the lives of its people.

He called on citizens to continue supporting the Mutfwang-led administration in its quest to build a more united, peaceful, secure, and prosperous state.

In a show of solidarity, leaders of the Support Groups also endorsed Senator Mwadkwon’s candidature for the Plateau North Senatorial seat in 2027 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). They pledged to mobilize delegates for the party primary and galvanize support across the zone to ensure his victory at the general elections.

Goodwill messages were delivered by notable personalities including the former Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy, and Hon. Dalyop Mancha, who extolled Senator Mwadkwon’s enduring legacy and impact in both state and national politics.

A minute of silence was observed in memory of those who lost their lives due to violent attacks on communities and other forms of insecurity affecting the State and Nation. Citizens were urged to be more security conscious and always remain alert.

The well-attended event drew friends, associates, and political allies of the former Senate Minority Leader.
