The Special Task Force (STF) responsible for the maintenance of peace in Plateau State, have been accused of killing three youths and injuring several others, who were celebrating a friend’s birthday at a Bar in Bukuru Lowcost of Jos South LGA of the State.
 
ViewpointNigeria gathered that, the incident happened last night(Sunday) at Joenice Bar at Nyango Gel , Bukuru Lowcost, in Jos South LGA.
 
It was also gathered that argument ensued at the Party venue prompting the owner of the Bar to alert members of the STF around the locality.

It was also gathered that argument ensued at the Party venue prompting the owner of the Bar to alert members of the STF around the locality.

An eyewitness told ViewpointNigeria that immediately the STF members got to the scene they started shooting at the youths, which led to the death of three persons, leaving scores injured, who now receiving treatment in the hospital.

The eyewitness said, “When the soldiers got to the venue they just open fire on us, I was lucky to have escaped unharmed.

Meanwhile, the father of Timshak Miri who was among those killed, Mr. Nantel Miri who was in tears, said he cannot believe that members of the Special Task Force responsible for of protecting the citizens would open fire on innocent teenagers.

Miri confirmed that his son’s corpse is at the Jos University Teaching Hospital mortuary.

He appealed to the Commander of the STF to ensure that the soldiers who perpetrated the dastardly act are brought to book.

The elder sister of Timshak,Fecit Miri, called on the Federal Government and relevant authorities to ensure that this act carried out on innocent youths shouldn’t go unpunished.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Abuh Emmauel said, “We have not received an official report from the Divisional Police Officer in Bukuru, but the Command would investigate and get to the root of the matter.

He urged the relatives of the affected youths to remain calm assuring that investigation has commence.

Efforts to get the response of the Media Officer of STF Captain Ikedichi Iweha, was not possible and he was not even picking his calls, at the time of filing this report.
