Sports as key to peace – Gov. Simon Lalong

Plateau state governor Simon Lalong on Wednesday said Sports has been identified as key to sustaining peace and building cohesion.
Commissioner of Information and Communication Yakubu Dati in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos said the governor also stated that the novelty football match is part of activities to round up the 2018 Democracy day which kicked off on friday.
The game, which was took place at the new ultra modern international stadium in Jos, saw Gov Simon Lalong leading the Executives as the Captain, while the Management Committee Chairman, Langtang North, Briand Dadi led the Algon team as Captain.
The kick-off was performed by Hon Peter Azi, Speaker, Plateau House of Assembly who later presented the trophy to the Executive team which emerged victorious in the game that ended 3-2 in their favour.
The novelty match which was entertaining saw Lalong scoring the final goal that handed the executives a second major victory following last years’ win over the Legislative arm.
