Southern Kaduna: OPSH Arrest 8 (Eight) Suspected Bandits and Criminals

The Security personnel of Operation Safe Haven, the special task force in charge of maintaining peace in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Southern Kaduna has arrested eight persons thought to be behind the latest attacks and isolated killings in the Southern Parts of Kaduna.

Sector 7 Commander of the OPSH, Colonel David Nwankonobi while addressing Journalists on Monday at the headquarters of Sector 7 in Kafachan said the suspects were arrested with various weapons.

The sector commander said, troops of the special taskforce acting on credible intelligence arrested six suspects at Lere LGA of Kaduna state.

Those arrested include; Abubakar Ali, Ali Amadu, Bawa Idi, Umar Dikko, Garba Damina, and Muhammed Ibrahim. The suspects had in their possession , one locally fabricated pump action gun, two locally made pistols, machetes and motorcycles.

In Chawai, community which lies between the fringes of Kauru and Zang on Kataf LGA, one Adamu Joseph alongside William Barnabas were arrested with a locally made out of action gun, cartridges, mobile phones, and dagger.

The special task force also reported that one of the members of the militia who carried out the last attack was killed and discovered by troops during the rescue operations.

Colonel Nwankonobi also said his men are in receipt of information on the identity of those who carried out the last attack and assured that those suspects will be picked up sooner rather than later.

He solicited for the cooperation of members of the public in arresting the suspected attackers.

Southern Kaduna has witnessed several killings in attacks and counter attacks I since June leading to the death of over a hundred persons.
