The Plateau State House of Assembly has given governor, Simon Lalong, the approval to appoint 15 special advisers as he requested.

The state lawmakers granted the request of the governor during its Tuesday sitting, presided over by the speaker of the State Assembly, Peter Azi, of the All Progressive Congress.

The motion to approve the appointment of the governor’s aides was moved by a member representing Shendam constituency, Henry Hoomkwam, and was unanimously accepted by the house.

Governor Lalong had, in a letter to the states legislature dated October 2, 2015, sought to appoint 15 Advisers “In order to strengthen the machinery of government, I consider it necessary to seek the approval of the house of assembly for the appointment of 15 Special Advisers.”
