SIM Shagaya urge Nigerian Youths to embrace Agriculture

Sim Shagaya a Nigerian entrepreneur and business mogul on Friday called on Youths of the country to embrace Agriculture .

Shagaya who is  is the founder and former C.E.O of one of West Africa ‘s largest electronic commerce website Konga.com and also the executive chairman of DealDey , a daily deal website  also said he is determined to support young and talented entrepreneurs in the country .

He made this known while speaking at an interactive session with members of the Plateau business community at the Jos Business School ,and  supported by NASCO group of companies . 

“I am encouraging our youths to go into agriculture as it is capable of tackling poverty and making our youths productive .”

He  disclosed that “the civil service cannot engage most of the jobless youths in the society, reiterating that agriculture will not only provide jobs for the teeming youths but, will ensure food sustainability in the country“.

He emphasized,” that we should not  depend on oil ,i feel it is time for us as to talk to our children ,youths to embrace agriculture; the youths should be encouraged to be engaged in agriculture; our soil is fertile .”

Sim Shagaya also encouraged companies  and  business owners  to employ competent hands in order to discourage nepotism ,stressing that most businesses die early because of nepotism .

He also advised youths to take advantage of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Anchor Borrowers scheme 

Our correspondent reports that In 2014, Sim Shagaya  was named in

Forbes’ list of “10 Most Powerful Men In Africa”. 

Sim Shagaya was born in Nigeria where he served in the Nigerian Army after completing the Nigerian Military School.

  He completed most of his education in the U.S . He is a graduate of George Washington University and

Dartmouth College , he also holds an M.B.A. certificate after graduating from Harvard Business School in the early 2000s.

 In their separate remarks ,the chief executive officer of Jos Business school Ezekiel Gomos and the Human Resource Manager of NASCO Group Alhaji Shehu Sule  urge Youths to learn from the leadership qualities of Sim Shagaya
