Senator Lalong Mourns Veteran Broadcaster, Nanyak Tyem Miner, Former Director of News PRTVC

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong has mourned the death of veteran broadcaster Nanyak Tyem Miner who passed unto glory recently at the age of 69.

Senator Lalong in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Makut Simon Macham said he received the news of the former Director News at the Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTVC) with shock and sadness.

He said the late Nanyak Miner was a household name in the media landscape of Plateau State and Nigeria during his years of practice where he contributed significantly to the development of the media profession, Plateau State and Nigeria at large.

Senator Lalong said he has lost a worthy constituent whose passion for development, peace and harmony was very high having spent many years using his career as a journalist to promote unity in the Senatorial District and State as a whole.

He also recalled that the late Nanyak Miner trained and mentored many younger journalists who have grown to take strategic spaces in the media industry and are equally involved in promoting the development of the State and the nation.

While condoling his family, the Tarok nation, PRTVC and the media industry in general, Lalong said no one can question God who gives and takes life.

However, he expressed optimism that the legacies of the deceased will continue to be remembered for many years to come as he left behind good records of service, patriotism and sacrifice.
