Distinguished Senator Hezekiah A Dimka, representing Plateau Central Zone and Senate Committee Chairman on Drugs and Narcotics in his quest to empower his constituents has scheduled an Empowerment Programme for 150 youths and women.
The first phase of the empowerment is Training and provision of grants for youths & women in livestock,Potatoes and rice production in Plateau Central district.
30 constituents from each of the five local government (Kanam, Pankshin, Kanke, Mangu & Bokkos) will benefit from the training.
The two day training will hold on Tuesday 17th – Wednesday 18th November,2020 at Vel Sunset Resort in Pankshin.
The Senator has outlined series of constituency projects that will
be executed in the days ahead.
The Distinguished Senator like other legislators in Nigeria has to his credit bills and motions sponsored in his one year and some months after his inauguration.
On constituency projects, work has since reached appreciable level on the installation of solar street lights across Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam LGAs of the Zone.
In Kanam LGA, the following areas were considered to benefit from this project;
Tuttung – Tankwal Area.
Gwamlar – Khinbogghom Area.
Kwalmiya – Khinpyi Area.
Dugub – Badawa Area.
Kantana – Kantana Area.
Kyaram – Garga Area.
Casting work in these areas was done successfully yesterday amidst cheers and jubilation by the people of the areas. It is our hope that within one week from today, they will start enjoying the light strategically located in their respective areas.
In Mangu LGA, transformers were already supplied for the extension of electricity supply in Mangu and Gindiri towns respectively. Mangu is the commercial and most urban part of the Zone that requires more electricity supply to help in bursting business activities.
In Bokkos LGA, transformers are being supplied there for the purpose of extending electricity supply in Bokkos town and environs.
In Kanam LGA, transformers would be supplied to Dengi town as well as the extension of electricity supply to Kyamsegi and Jarmai town respectively in no distance time.
On issue of empowerment, the Distinguished Senator will commence empowerment of women and youth before the end of 2020.
Other critical infrastructures like hospital, schools, road, and water supply approved in the 2020 appropriation bill would be pursuit and implemented respectively for the good of the constituency as funds are being released to respective ministries and agencies for the implementation. The Distinguished Senator is determined and committed to ensure that what is meant for the constituents is delivered to them judiciously.
On issue of appointment, deserving members of the constituents who applied for recruitment in some federal government agencies would soon have course to rejoice.
On the 2021 appropriation bill currently being debated and considered by the National Assembly, the Senator is doing everything within his reach to ensure that Plateau Central get its fair share of the budget.
