Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Dariye has on Tuesday 3rd December, 2023 visited the Families of Late Na Rahila Dachi Gunat and Engr. Matawal Dauda Mafwil to sympathize and empathize with them over the demise of the loved ones.
Sen. Dariye who was accompanied by his Friends and political allies was at the residence of Late Na Rahila Dachi Gunat who he described as a humble, hospitable and virtuous Woman who lived a modest life impacting humanity and the society.
According to him, the Gunats are his Family having enjoyed good relationship with them and stated that Guru Nanfwang Dachi Gunat, Son to the deceased is his political Loyalist. He lauded her impact to community development and said her demise has left a vacuum that would be hard to fill.
He recalled with nostalgia his communication with the deceased and his plan to visit her before he heard the news of her demise. He applauded the deceased for raising great figures who are making impact globally.
At the Residence of late Engr Matawal Dauda Mafwil, Plateau State Coordinator, Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Senator Dariye lauded his humble and God-fearing disposition. He applauded the deceased for serving Plateau State and Nigeria meticulously. He said the deceased contributed greatly to the Engineering profession especially the Agricultural sector and left indelible prints that will stand the test of time.
“I have known Late Engr. Matawal Dauda Mafwil for over 51 Years, he was a Man of honour and peace. He was my Senior at Government College Makurdi, Benue State where he taught me how to play Table Tennis and always had my back as an elder Brother” he said.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and divine comfort to their Families and loved ones.
At all the places visited, the bereaved Families appreciated the Senator and his entourage for identifying with them in their trying moment a d said the visit has further encouraged them.
