In order to ameliorate the hardships being faced by the Citizens in the Country former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwadkwon PhD today 20th March, 2024 in Jos the Plateau State Capital distributed 25 kg of Rice each to over 2,000 persons in Plateau State with a clarion call on the Citizens to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence.
In his remarks during the presentation of the palliative to the people, the Senator hinted that the initiative is on account of the economic hardships being experienced by the People.
In his words “this gesture is to the people irrespective of their religious, ethnic and political inclinations. It is aimed to cushion the effect of the persistent hunger and economic hardships”. He reiterated his commitment to more palliative distribution soon to assist the people.
He harped on the need for unity and peaceful coexistence among the Citizens which according to him are vital to prosperity and urged them to protect the interest of the State at all times. “We can’t progress without unity” he said.
He admonished the Citizens to always pray for Governor Caleb Mutfwang, President Bola Tinubu, religious and traditional Leaders for the attainment of growth and development.
The Transition Implementation Committee Chairman Riyom Local Government Council Hon. Sati Shuwa, Liaison Officer to the Executive Governor of Plateau State for Barkin Ladi Constituency Hon. Philip Jwe and his Counterpart for Riyom Constituency in their separate remarks lauded the humanitarian gesture of Sen. Mwadkwon saying it is well thought of and coming at the time the people are passing through hardship.
They said the gesture will go a long way to assist the People. They described Senator Mwadkwon as a political Giant whose light is shining so bright and his strategic impact felt.
Representative of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Steve commended the giant stride put in place by Sen. Mwadkwon and said they are identifying with him on account of his priority towards enhancing food security and combating hunger in the land.
Some Beneficiaries of the palliative who could not hide their joy appreciated Senator Mwadkwon for displaying empathy by identifying with them in their most trying time and providing them with a core physiological need, food.
They prayed God to open doors for him to reach out to more People.
