Sen. Lalong Salutes Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Ishaya Audu on 40th Priestly Ordination

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong has described the Catholic Archbishop of Jos Ishaya Mathew Audu as a man of God with a heart full of love and zeal for the salvation of the souls of men.

Lalong who attended the Celebration of 40th Anniversary of the Archbishop held at his village, Tudu Uku-Gitata, Keffi in Nasarawa State said Archbishop Audu has over the years lived up to his calling to priesthood by serving with humility, compassion and honesty.

He recalled with nostalgia how he was privileged to receive the Archbishop to Jos upon his transfer when he was the Governor of Plateau State.

Lalong urged the celebrant to remain resolute in propagating the word of salvation in bringing people to the saving grace of Jesus Christ as he has been doing for the past 40 years.

The Senator commended Bishop Audu for construction of a classroom block for his village and also promised support for the school.

In a Homily, Msgnr Prof. Cletus Gotan said the call to priesthood is a special privilege given by God for service and the fulfilment of his purpose on earth.

He said Archbishop Audu is a gift to the Catholic Church and has maintained the essence of his calling by serving in different places despite the challenges and without complaining.
