Sen. Jonah Jang Submits Presidential Nomination Form, Vows to Stem Insecurity & Save Nigeria from Collapse

Former Executive Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau North at the National Assembly, His Excellency Da Sen. Jonah David Jang today Monday 10th September, 2018 submitted his Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Wadata Plaza Abuja.

Sen. Jonah Jang Sen. Jonah Jang while submitting his Forms said restructuring the Country would be his top priority. He promised to do that based on the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference done during the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration as well as in consonance with the laws of the land to address critical issues that pertains to imbalance in the nation and ensure that security mechanism carryout their constitutional responsibility effectively without undue interference.

He said the insecurity confronting the Nation has reached an alarming rate which if not tackled will he collapse the Country.

He said that being an experienced retired Senior Military Officer he is in the best position to handle the insecurity problems.

“The present government lacks the sincerity, honesty and political will to bring an end to the insecurity in Nigeria as they are treating same with kid gloves” He said.

On fight against corruption, Sen. Jang said the fight would be holistic in such a way that the economy will not be strangulated.

“If elected as President, I will ensure agencies such as the EFCC and ICPC are strengthened for optimally performance and independence” he said.

Sen. Jang said he intends to grow the economy to ensure overdependence becomes a thing of the past.

He promised to come up with sound economic and fiscal policies that would attract massive local and Foreign Direct Investments if elected.

He said he will carryout massive massive infrastructural development through the Public Private Partnerships (PPP).

The former Governor said he would give attention to human capital development if elected as President. He said he would ensure the people are empowered to remain useful and helpful to themselves and society at large which in turn would address the high crime rate and insurgencies.

Sen. Jang said his aspiration is a special call and a step of faith. He said he would work towards putting Nigeria on top Countries in Africa.

He said he is contesting to win and as one of the living Founding Fathers of the Party, a Life Member of the Board of Trustees and a seasoned Democrat, he is sure of victory.
He said the APC government is busy rubbishing and destroying the healthy and prosperous Country handed over to it by the PDP.

He said he would give attention to transportation and agriculture to make Nigeria first.

He said Nigeria interest is first and he would pursue such interest that would bring about National unity, peace, growth and prosperity.thus

“As a Citizen of this Country, it would be Nigeria First” he said.

He promised to restore peace, reorganize the Military and police for greater productivity and effective results.
He said State Police would be established to address the local security problems of the States more promptly and efficiently.

The National Organizing Secretary of the Party, Rtr. Col. Austin Akobundu who received the Forms on behalf of the National Chairman of the Party described Sen. Jang as one of the excellent and exceptional Governors Nigeria has produced.

He said the legacies of Sen. Jang are in Benue, Kogi, Adamawa, Taraba and Plateau State where he served as Military Administrator and Civilian Governor for all to see and attest to.

He said despite all persecution by the ruling party, Sen. Jang has remained in the party which only a man of character and integrity could do.

Col. Austin said PDP is a party of great destination as good foundation has been laid for the party to be more stronger and greater.

He promised a free, fair, credible, transparent and acceptable Primaries would be conducted of which the integrity of the process would be protected and not compromised.

He urged all the Presidential Aspirants to carryout their campaigns devoid of abusive words or campaign of calumny capable of triggering hatred which would further polarize the party.

He said Aspirants must focus on issues which will help to strengthen the party and ensure its victories at all levels.

Sen. Jang was accompanied by some members of the National Assembly such as Barr. Dr. I. D. Gyang, Rep. Timothy Golu and Rt. Hon. Johnbull Shekarau.

Others who were present are Rt. Hon. George Daika and Dr. Ibrahim Ponyah who are gubernatorial Aspirants.

Rep. Bitrus Kaze, Hon. Pamson Dagyat, Hon. Nyam Dareng, women, youths, elders and people from other parts of the Country were not left out.
