SPEECH BY DISTINGUISHED SENATOR (GEN) JT USENI,DSS,FWC(+), MNI,CFR ON THE OCCASION OF THE COMMISSIONING OF THE OFFICE JERRY USENI CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION (JUCO) AND THE INAUGURATION OF ITS CAMPAIGN OFFICIALS (DIRECTORS AND COORDINATORS)

It is with great Pleasure that I warmly welcome all of you to this brief but historic event. It is historic because of its significance to the Politics of our great party in particular, and Plateau State in general.

As you are aware, on the 4th of April 2018, i formally made a solemn expression of interest to the Plateau State PDP leadership of my desire to contest the governorship of Plateau State. This desire was born by the need to accept the clarion call to restore Plateau State on the path of building a peaceful, virile and harmonious State, and the restoration of our dear State from a situation of near collapse in almost all of our human endeavors in general. It is true that past administrations, since 1967 when the state was created, have each, made modest efforts, there is definitely a lot more to be done in view of our immediate past history and current experiences.

It was against this background that after wide consultation i have decided to contest for the governorship of Plateau State in 2019, but Starting with primaries at my party level.

Our statement of intention, Philosophy and vision, which will soon be made public to the voting public for support, is in tandem with the Manifesto of our great party, the PDP, and the aspirations every Plateau person.
We cannot however do these things without the customary engagement of our supporters and volunteers.

Consequently we have established the campaign structure known as THE JERRY USENI CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION (JUCO) headed by Director-General comprises of Directors, Zonal Coordinators and Local Government Coordinators. This dedicated staff, in conjunction with patriotic and active cadres and all those who believe in our philosophy of restoring peace, unity and progress, will ensure that we win the ticket to fly the flag of the PDP in 2019.

This building that we are holding this function in, will serve as the operational Headquarters of JUCO. You are free to call for consultation and to make maximum use of the staff and facilities available. My charge to the Director-General and his Staff and all our supporters is that we should ensure that we play politics without rancor and bitterness. We should bear in mind that there are OTHER CONTESTANTS WITHIN AND OUTSIDE THE PDP and we should not allow ourselves to engage in HOSTILE ACTIVITIES. I mentioned on the day i expressed my intention and i am repeating that no supporter of mine SHOULD ENGAGE IN ANY INSUBORDINATION OR ANTAGONISTIC ACTIVITY. I want to take this opportunity to commend and thank the Director-General, Directors and all the the Coordinators for accepting to offer their services on the campaign that by the grace of God will lead us to great victory.

I charge other contestants in the field with the advice that we all play the game according to the rules because if we do otherwise and we will destroy the State, and live with the consequence of being left with no any other place to go or to rule over, we should always remember that in everything “do good and you see good”.
