The Senator Plateau North, Barr. I. D. Gyang who is the Deputy chairman Senate committee on Defence today Wednesday 7th August, 2019 continued his tour of Federal Establishments and Institutions that are domiciled in Plateau North.
Federal Establishment visited were Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Zonal Office Jos, National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) Regional Training Centre, Jos and National Centre for Remote Sensing (NCRS) Jos Office.
In his separate remarks during the visits, Senator I. D. Gyang stated that the essence of the visits was to familiarize himself with the organisations with a view to cultivating a constructive relationship with the host communities of Plateau North.
He stated that he intends to use his legislative capacity to enhance the attainment of the objectives and core mandate of all Federal establishments in the Senatorial zone.
Senator Gyang noted with delight the roles and mandate of the organizations visited.
Senator Gyang offered to address issues that relate to the Acts establishing all Federal agencies that require enactment or amendment.
The other critical legislative intervention that Senator Gyang promised the Federal agencies is his desire to intervene where and when necessary in their annual budget submission and presentation to the Senate through the legislative appropriations process.
He assured heads of organizations visited that the people of Plateau North are resolved to strengthening the prevailing peace with a view to creating a conducive and enabling environment for the day to day activities and operations of all Federal establishments and Institutions and indeed all other businesses in the Senatorial District to thrive.
Sen. I. D. Gyang said he deemed it fit and necessary to engage with Federal Establishments within the Zone to build a stronger relationship.
He said the NTA is critical to national survival most especially in upholding and promoting the rule of law to deepen democracy as well as promoting good governance for accountability.
He promised to deploy legislative capacity to ensure that all legislative backings are given to ensure the establishments achieve their core mandate.
He urged the NTA to disseminate the gospel of peace.
He admonished NAPTIN & NCRS to concentrate on critical trainings and building the capacities of the people in the Zone for productivity and national development.
Sen. I. D. Gyang pledged to have retainership with the NTA to bring to fore his programmes for accountability.
He appreciated the security agencies, media, religious and traditional leaders for their contributions toward the peace in the Zone and State.
In their separate remarks, the Zonal Director, Mr. Peter Ochigbo, Assistant Director NAPTIN and Director/Chief Executive of NCRS Dr. Efron Nduke Gajere (JP) all appreciated the Senator and his entourage and commended him for being the first Senator to be in their Offices.
They promised to synergize with the Senator for the common good of the people of the Senatorial Zone, State and Nation at large. They said the establishments are not without challenges and said they are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the Senator considering his robust engagements will push to ensure the challenges are addressed.
The Heads of the establishments visited commended the Senator for unifying the Senatorial zone and pursuing peace thereby enhancing safer and secured environment for them. They lauded him for being one of the effective, vibrant and vocal Senators in the 9th National Assembly.
The Zonal Director NTA said their mandate is to promote peaceful coexistence in the State and nation at large as well as give unbiased, balance and objective reportage. He congratulated the Senator for the God-given mandate.
He assured to give him the necessary support and cooperation in terms of media coverage and documentation of his constituency projects and other activities.
