Senator Akume condoles with Plateau over killings

Former Governor of Benue state and serving Senator representing Sen George Akume on Friday paid a condolence visit on the Executive Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong over the recent attacks in Gashish Districts and other parts of the Northern Senatorial districts of the state which led to the loss of over 200 lives.
A statement by Emmanuel Nanle ,the director of Press and Public affairs to Gov Lalong Emmanuel Nanle reads that The Senator commiserated with the entire peace loving people of the state and called on all to rally round the governor as he joins hands with the federal government to put an end to the repeated attacks by marauding herdsmen which he said are not only limited to plateau.
He said” this is the time for plateau to stand united and not to allow any political or ethnic difference make citizens loose sight of the common collective battle it must fight for the restoration peace”
The statement also reads that the Ex Governor was accompanied by some stakeholders from Benue state
