“Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom”
This was the scriptural quote by the former Governor of Plateau State/Senator Plateau Central District, Senator Joshua Dariye during a condolence visit to the Family of Hon. Aminu Zang former Member Federal House of Representatives/Commissioner Plateau State to empathize with them over the demise of their Daughter, late Mrs Selma Zang-Obanewo.
While consoling the Family, Sen. Dariye described death as an inevitable path of all mortals and charged those alive to make their ways right with God, their Creator since they are unaware of the time of their death.
He said though the demise of a loved one is painful, God is the only Source of divine comfort. He admonished the Family Members and loved ones present during the visit to look up to God, the Giver and Taker of all lives.
He also stated that being mortals should serve as a reminder that death is inevitable.
He stated “we must look up to God at all times, because He knows the end of all matters from their very initial. He is Perfect, He is Holy and cannot be questioned. He is our Maker and does what pleases Him. God’s ways are mysterious and unfathomable to mortal beings”
The ex-Governor encouraged the bereaved Family to remain strong and put their trust in God at all times.
Father of the Deceased, Hon. Aminu Zang who was Commissioner under the Dariye administration who received the delegation appreciated his Principal for identifying with his family in their most trying moment.
He said they are pained being the ones burying their Daughter instead of the reverse.
He said the visit by the former Governor and his entourage has further strengthened and encouraged them.
On the entourage were Nde John Gobak, former SSG, Chief Gideon Mitu, former Permanent Secretary, Mrs Larai Ruth Kwarsen, former Senior Special Assistant, Mr Iliya Mangai, former SSA, Barrister Joshua Wapdiyel, former SSA.
