Former Governor of Plateau State and Senator Plateau Central during the 7th and 8th Senate, His Excellency Senator Joshua Dariye has consoled with government of Kogi State and Families that lost their loved ones in the unfortunate Boat mishap involving Traders from Kogi State that claimed over 150 lives.

Sen. Dariye described the incident as saddening, devastating and heart wrecking considering the innocent and productive lives that were lost.

While empathizing with the bereaved families and the Government of Kogi State, he called for more safety and precautionary measures to avert future occurrences.

“This mishap is quite unfortunate, disturbing and a very sad occurrence. There is need for to deploy more safety measures such as use of safety jackets, setting limit for number of passengers to convey and other standards that will safeguard lives and property of passengers” he said.

He lauded efforts deployed that led to the rescue of 24 passengers.

He prayed God to comfort the families of the victims of the mishap, the government and good People of Kogi State who were affected by the sad incident.
