S/Kaduna: Miyetti Allah Hails OPSH, Pledges to Support Troops Fish Out Criminals

The Kaduna State branch of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria,MACBAN,has thanked Operation Safe Haven, OPSH, for its interventionist efforts in the Southern Kaduna crisis, pledging to support the military outfit in fishing out criminals in the area.

The Fulani nomadic organisation said it was particularly elated over the effort of the Commander OPSH in the area for establishing what it called a community based interaction approach with some leaders of the warring groups in Southern Kaduna, to find lasting peace and promote co’-existence among the communities.

Alhaji Haruna Tugga,Chairman of MACBAN in Kaduna State,in a statement,Tuesday,applauding the OPSH for the efforts it has made so far in restoring peace in Southern Kaduna,assured the OPSH Commander , Major General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo,that the body would “join hands with the soldiers to fish out the criminals in the area and make Southern Kaduna a safer place for all.”

In the statement it titled,” The Security Situation in Southern Kaduna and the Military Bravery “,MACBAN said:”We are expressing our deep appreciation to the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Okonkwo, who met with the stakeholders of the parties in an interactive session which was really an educative one.”

“After the Commander met with some Southern kaduna Community representatives, he also met with our own representatives to hear from both sides. This is commendable and will go a long way in fostering peace and stability among the warring communities,” it said.

According to MACBAN, “this approach is also providing a good platform for cordial relationship between the communities and soldiers and will enhance exchange of information from both sides that can assist in preventing attacks as well as apprehending the criminals within the communities.”

It called on Fulani nomads in the area and Kaduna State in general “to be calm and law abiding,adding that,” They should also be vigilant in their localities and report any suspicious persons to the security agencies within their communities.”

It appealed to the Federal and the Kaduna State governments to as a matter of urgency “assist the victims of the crises as they are in a terrible condition.”

“There is no food, sanitation items, medical facilities, sleeping materials and other basic necessities of life,” it said even as it noted that:”We appreciate the efforts being made by state and federal governments in providing security to the crisis areas.”

This, according to him “shows the concern this present administration has for its citizens.”

The statement read in full:”Our association has studied and assessed the military intervention in curbing the crises in Southern Kaduna and Zango Kataf in particular.

“We have appreciated the efforts of Operation Safe Haven in the area for establishing a community based approach: involving interactions with the warring groups in order to find lasting peace and promote co’-existance among the communities.

“We are expressing our deep appreciation to the Military outfit which has shown commitment in resolving the crises and providing security in southern Kaduna.

“After the Commander met with some southern kaduna Community representatives,he also met with our own representatives to hear from both sides and forge a way forward”

“This to us is commendable and will go a long way in fostering peace and stability among the warring communities.”

“We are praying to God Almighty to help the Military in its effort to support us restore peace and understanding among the people of Southern Kaduna. May God help us.

“We are assuring the officers and men of the Operation Safe Haven that our Association will join hands with them to fish out the criminals in the area and make Southern Kaduna safer place for all.

“We are also appealing to our Fulani normads in the Southern Kaduna and Kaduna State in general to be calm and law abiding.

“They should also be vigilant in their localities and report any suspicious activity to the security agencies within their communities.

“We are calling on the Federal and Kaduna State Governments to as a matter of urgency assist the victims of the crises as they are in a terrible condition.
