The member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Donga/Ussa/Takum/Special Area Federal Constituency of Taraba State, Rep. Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum today Saturday 14th September, 2019 bagged a Honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity from the United Missionary Church of Africa (UMCA) Theological College Ilorin, Kwara State.
The School Management said the Federal Lawmaker who chosen for the honorary Doctorate Degree on account of his immense contribution to education, youth development and passion for human capital development.
The management said it is based on recommendation of the faculty to confer on him the honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity.
They said the mission of the Institution includes: The mission of the College includes: To lead each student to a fuller experience of Christ as Saviour and Lord, and to the development of a truly Christian character;
To guide each student into a more thorough knowledge of the Word of God and to equip him or her with critical methods for its application; To give students a love for, and a dedication to the church and to show them their place in its worldwide commission; To train effective Christian Religious Studies teachers/lecturers for primary, secondary and tertiary schools; To train pastors and evangelists to serve effectively in their pastoral and prophetic ministers; To make students aware of the relationship between the church and society.
The Lawmaker appreciated the College for finding him worthy for such honor and said it will further spur him to do more in terms of education and other human capital development avenues.
Rep. Rima said his legislative interests are Education, finance, agriculture and power which he will continue to give special attention to.
The College is set up and is owned by the United Missionary Church of Africa (UMCA) in Nigeria, which associates with World Partners (an association of Missionary Churches in U.S.A., Canada and Africa).
