Rt. Hon. George Daika Gubernatorial Ambition Credited With Rain of Endorsements in Kanke, Pankshin & Mangu LGAs
The gubernatorial ambition of the former Speaker PLHA, ex-member House of Representatives for Shendam/Qua’anpan/Mikang Federal Constituency and former Member ECOWAS Parliament, Rt. Hon. George Edwards Daika, one of the strongest Governorship Hopefuls of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP recorded rain of endorsements in Kanke, Pankshin and Mangu LGAs.
The resounding endorsements were recorded during the meet-the-delegates/party Executives/stakeholders tour of the governorship Hopeful.
The tour which started in Kanke LGA saw delegates, other party Executives, stakeholders and supporters coming together to hear the aspirant and his plans for the State as well as the Party.
They described the visit of the campaign organisation as blessing considering the rain that fell after days of lack of rains.
“I am completely convinced that we have before us the right and visionary person for Governorship and we would not take such visit for granted but prove it through our votes during the Primaries and main election”
“You are the chosen one by God and we would not disappoint the people of Plateau State by voting any other person if not you” one of them said.
“We have been seeing aspirants coming to see us but your visit is very different looking at the personalities in your campaign team” another person posited.
“We are endorsing you because we believe in your capabilities and capacity” he concluded.
In Pankshin LGA, the team were warmly received by the Party Executives, faithfuls and stakeholders.
Hon. Chief Simon Tangni said having gone through the Northern and Southern Zones, Rt. Hon. George Daika has the highest acceptability and the people of the Central Zone where he hails would not be left out.
As Chairman Advisory Board and other elders, we have agreed to support the most credible and competent leader who is Rt. Hon. Daika to serve a single tenure of 4 years.
“Rt. Hon. Daika is a man of integrity and would not disappoint Plateau State” Chief Tangni said. “He is selfless, discipline, accountable, transparent and the right person to take Plateau to enviable height” he said further.
“We are here with the best man that will restore the lost glory of the State ” he said.
Amb. Gabriel Dewan who spoke at the event said as the United Nations Assembly Youth President, North Central he is non-partisan but the Aspirant has the qualities we need in the next Governor.
He said the Aspirant, Rt. Hon. Daika is a youth-friendly person who has affected lives positively.
He said many youths have benefited from Rt. Hon. Daika and he is convinced he would not let the State proud and not disappoint the people.
He endorsed Rt. Hon. George Daika for election and admonished the people of Pankshin LGA, especially the delegates to the Primaries to give him full backing.
“Rt. Hon. Daika is detribalized leader who will help you not minding your tribal, ethnic, religious and political inclinations”
“He is the best aspirant as far as the 2019 gubernatorial election in Plateau State is concerned” he concluded.
The Executives who spoke through the Local Government Chairman said they have no any serious aspirant so far that has demonstrated sufficient credibility like Rt. Hon. Daika and said he remains their unbeatable choice.
“Many other aspirants have been here but none possessed your kind of humility and charisma ”
“You are the definition of the kind of leader our State needs” he concluded.
“I have assisted Local Government Party Chairmen with cars and Ward Chairmen with Motor Bikes to alleviate their sufferings as a passionate representative” Rt. Hon. George Daika said.
He admonition them to vote for the right aspirants in the forthcoming Party Primaries.
“Voting for money is selling your birthrights and conscience which will be inimical to our future” he said.
Rt. Hon. Daika later attended the Sensitization Rally of PDP Women Leaders in Pankshin LGA where he appreciated the women for keeping faith with the man.
“I want to assure you that your labor will soon yield good fruits, standing with the party, State and Nation is commendable” he said.
“I am a product of the Party having served the party as Local Government Secretary, elected Member House of Assembly and House of Representatives ”
“I know your pains and we would continue to partner to make the party better and stronger ”
“As the party primaries draw closer, you must elect people of integrity”
“The key to Plateau greatness is in your hands, it is left for you to take the right decision to bring us out of the present poor governance or make wrong decision which may further push us into more unprecedented hardships and danger”
“Those who would want to buy your votes have nothing to offer” he said.
Director General, Prof. Sam Godongs said Plateau State is retrogressing and needs a vibrant leader who would salvage the State from its present deteriorating state. He said this administration has taken the State backward and its known glory is being eroded.
He said Rt. Hon. George Daika is the person needed to save the State.
He said the delegates should accept all aspirants and assess them all to choose the best.
He said credibility and competence made Rt. Hon. Daika to be elected into the exalted office of the Honorable Speaker unanimously by members PLHA in 1999 as Speaker and later in 2007 the House of Representatives from where he was subsequently elected into the ECOWAS Parliament as a Parliamentarian.
Rt. Hon. Daika said he is a product of the mercy and grace of God and benevolence of the people.
He said he is not more than them in anyway. He said they must think before electing the next Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP.
He asked them to defend their future, that of their children and their unborn children through voting the right person.
He said he needs their supports and prayers to achieve his gubernatorial ambition.
“I want to always leave a legacy by impacting lives positively” he said.
He assured them of serving a one-term tenure and will stick to that.
He said having known he could not work with Sen. Dariye the then Governor as Speaker he resigned because he didn’t want to disappoint the trust and mandate of the people.
He told them to be careful of those who would want to buy their mandate and at last disappoint them. He said the people are his wealth and if elected he would uphold the trust and confidence.
He promised to pursue peaceful coexistence in the State so that the State would be safer so that the people would be happy, business would thrive and the economy would be improved for growth, development and prosperity.
In Mangu LGA, the team visited the Palace of the Chairman Mangu Traditional Council and were warmly received by the Miskhagam Mwaghavul, HRH Da Nelson Bakfur and the Sum Pyem, HRH Da Mato.
HRH Da Nelson prayed for the candidate and said he is convinced that the aspirant will do well if elected.
“Seeing the calibre of people in your team, I am rest assured you would make a great Governor if elected”
Your campaign team is made up of men and women of integrity and persons who are upright” he said.
The royal father wished Rt. Hon. Daika success in his campaign.
The Party Executives later warmly welcomed the team.
Local Government Chairman PDP Mangu said he has benefited from the benevolence of Rt. Hon. Daika when he was at the National Assembly without even knowing him showing he is a kind and people-friendly personality.
He said Rt. Hon. Daika is a global blessing not local.
Former Chairman of Mangu LGC, Hon. Moses Tangsan eulogised Rt. Hon. Daika saying he has done the State proud when he was Speaker PLHA at a tender age.
“I want to tell you that with the array of persons I am seeing in this team, I am convinced victory is yours, Rt. Hon. George Daika” he said.
Hon. Barr. Caleb Mutfwang on his part told the team that they are unbeatable.
“This team is loaded with people of good conscience and standard”
“This is the winning team and the people of Mangu LGA will give you their maximum support to ensure your victory” he said.
“We are on ground to ensure Gov. Lalong is disgraced at the poll in 2019 and retired to his hometown” he concluded.
Rt. Hon. Daika told the delegates in all the LGAs that he will be satisfied if there is peace and unity, when people are coexisting peacefully.
“My vision is to have a United, safer, secured and more prosperous Plateau State” he said.
“Your pains would be my pains and your joy my own”
“I would pursue the interest of Plateau State and would stand by the people at all times”
“I want to make Plateau State safer, secured, stronger, better and greater again”
“We must all work towards restoring our lost glory”
“What our forefathers struggled to bequeath us must not be allowed to go into extinction by mediocres”
“It is our duty to make things right for our children, grandchildren and generations unborn”
“Posterity is watching, we must resist politics of money to that of integrity and empathy”
“I feel your pains, because I am one of you and you are my wealth, I have no wealth than you”
“Pray for me, PDP, Plateau State and Nigeria” he concluded.
He called for a minute silence be observed for those who died.
