Riyom LGA PDP Women Holds Sensitization Rally and Launching
The PDP Women throughs the office of the Local Government Women Leader, Mrs Mary James today held a sensitization rally and launching to raise funds for the purchase of a Bus for their grassroot activities.
Mrs. Mary James, PDP Women Leader Riyom LGA welcomed all members and charged them towards total loyalty to the party and engaging in healthy competition devoid of rancor, campaigns of calumny and character assassinations.
The Event took place at TN Guest Lodge Conference Hall was well attended and was Chaired by former Secretary Riyom LGA, Hon. Alex Kutdang.
Member representing Shendam/Qua’anpan/Mikang Federal Constituency at the National Assembly and a Gubernatorial Aspirant thanked the women for being committed and steadfast.
He went further to promise the women of inclusion if elected.
Rep. Timothy Golu, member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency told the congregation to continue to pray and rise up their voices against the injustice and impunity going on in the nation. He said the ruling party is gone and PDP in the State should unite towards regaining power from the APC who are clueless.
A Gubernatorial Hopeful, Rt. Hon. George Edwards Daika who was represented by the Director General of his Campaign Organisation, Prof. Sam Godongs said Plateau State is the home of PDP and Riyom LGA which is the gateway of the State is completely PDP.
He said Plateau State is in disarray and needs someone who is bold, fearless and credible to address the numerous challenges bedevilling the State. He said Rt. Hon. Daika has the qualities being a man of integrity who served as Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly and Member House Representatives. He commended the women for their passion and faith in the party.
Engr. Ponyah Ibrahim, a Gubernatorial Aspirant who was represented said he is ready to change the fortunes of the State if elected.
Other Gubernatorial Aspirants who were represented included: uHon. Dr. Kemi Nshe, Engr. Jimmy Cheto and Mr. Dominic Datong who assured the women of their supports all the time.
Aspirants for House of Representatives for Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency who graced the occasion were Barr. Victor Kwon former PDP National Legal Adviser, PLHA Minority Leader Hon. Daniel Dem, Hon. Dr. Simon Mwadkwon Fwet former Member House of Representatives B/Ladi-Riyom Federal Constituency and former Finance Commissioner Plateau State Hon. Davou C. Mang all agreed to work together to make the party stronger and support whoever would emerge bas flagbearer.
House of Assembly Aspirants present were Hon. Wycliffe Watson, Hon. Timothy Dantong, Cmr. Sam Dongo, Hon. Ishaku Chuntai and former Commissioner of Education Hon. Alex Chup.
Plateau State PDP Women Leader, Mrs Martina Dakur appreciated the women for their commitment and resilience saying women in the party have remained despite some defections.
Former PLHA Member and Chairperson Riyom LGA, Hon. Ngo Josephine Piyo was the paper presenter.
Senatorship Aspirants were also on ground while others represented.
Former Commissioner of Information Hon. Gregory Nyelong and other appointees in the past administration were present.
The Plateau State Chairman of PDP, Hon. Elder Damishi T. Sango applauded the women for their enthusiasm towards the Party.
He said the ruling party are already working against itself and victory is sure for the PDP.
He charged all aspirants and supporters of the party to be more united and ensure they work towards the success of the party.
He said APC would suffer defeat if Council Polls are held today. He said the APC may not win a single Local Government Area in the State.
“We are in opposition and wouldn’t afford the luxury of impunity and imposition” he said.
He said 2019 General Elections would be rough and rugged.
You must stand to protect your votes he told the people.
“Don’t allow anyone upturn your votes”
“We must be more united as a Party and be supportive”
“Riyom is ready to deliver anytime elections are held.” he concluded.
Former Local Government Chairperson Riyom LGC and Chairperson Council of Elders Riyom LGA, Ngo Mary Dang and Former Education Secretary Hon. Ngo Hwonchung Majak, Former Secretary and Acting National Legal Adviser, Barr. Simon Jok, Former Leader Riyom Legislative Arm Rt. Hon. Sati Shuwa Bature, Cmr. Dung Danboyi, The Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Titus Danja and his Running-mate, Hon. Amina Micah, former Councillor Kwogo Ward Hon. Dung Choji, former Councillor Wereng Ward Hon. Kim Chong, other former political office holders and Councillorship Candidates of the party were all at the event.
The PDP Chairman Riyom LGA thanked the people for gracing the occasion and admonished them to continue to support the party to bounce back to power to replace the APC that has brought hardships and suffering to the masses.
Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Alex Kutdang thanked the women for the privilege given to him and charged them on loyalty to the party.
The event was well attended by PDP Big wigs, stakeholders, women, youths and Party faithfuls across the Local Government Area.
