Transition Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government Sati Shuwa has been conferred with a Northern Award of Merit as the “Mai Baiwan Matasan Arewa” by the Arewa Youths Assembly of Nigeria (AYAN).

The Award was presented to the Chairman by the Speaker of the Forum Comrade Dachollom Davou at the Riyom Local Government Legislative Chambers.

Comrade Dachollom revealed that the award presented to the Transition Committee Chairman was in recognition of his superlative performance and achievements in the overall development of Riyom Local Government Area in the area of Youths and Student empowerment.

He also explained that the Youth Platinum Leadership Award of Excellent conferred on the Chairman was conceived by the Arewa Youths Assembly of Nigeria as a way of encouraging him to do more for his people.

Comrade Dachollom disclosed that the Arewa Youths Assembly is the umbrella body of all the youth associations in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to eradicate any form of sentiments, and bias and to uphold the unity of purpose.

Receiving the Award, the Transition Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government Council, Sati Shuwa thanked the Arewa Youths Assembly for finding him worthy of the recognition and said the award would spur him to do more to develop the Council Area and give meaning to the significance of the Local Government system in Nigeria.

According to the Chairman, the award was not only for him alone but dedicated to the Almighty God, staff, and the people of Riyom Local Government Area.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor for Riyom Local Government Danbwarang Ibrahim congratulated the Chairman and assured him of continued support and cooperation to enable him to deliver on his mandate for his people.
