Following the conflict which took place in Daffo District of Bokkos which led to the loss of lives and properties, Hon. Solomon Maren the Honourable Member Representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency in the National Assembly paid a visit to the community.
The visit commenced with a visit to the District Head of Daffo to commiserate with him and the good people of Daffo over the crisis that took place.
Hon. Maren at the palace informed the District Head of various efforts he has undertaken towards ensuring peace and normalcy returns.
The District Head in his response appreciated Hon. Maren for all he has done since the outbreak of the crisis and thank him for bringing relief materials to help alleviate the plight of the people.
Hon. Maren proceeded to COCIN RCC Daffo where he addressed the internal displaced persons there and then donated relief materials to them.
From Daffo town, Hon Maren and his entourage moved to Bokkos town where he addressed the internal displaced persons who fled Daffo and are in three camps.
Hon. Maren commiserated with them and enjoined them to tow the path of forgiveness. He said he was touched by what befell them and that words cannot replace all they have lost but God Almighty will comfort them.
He donated relief materials ranging from bundles of Zincs, bags of rice, bags of Maize, bag of garri, cartons of soap, cartons of Maggi, wrappers, mats, and sacks of slippers alongside other items.
The relief materials were received on behalf of the internal displaced persons by Rev. Samuel Matawal Masok who appreciated and thanked the Hon. Member for his good and laudable gesture.
Mrs. Bilkisu Mafwala an internal displaced person tearfully appreciated Hon. Maren for his gesture. She also called on Government to help restore normalcy to the area so that they can return home.
Hon. Maren was accompained by his wife, Engr Victoria Maren, Hon. Micheal Abi the Chairman of Bokkos PDP, Prof. Barnabas Mandong, Rt. Hon. Titus Alams, Hon. Monday Kassah, Hon. Moses Dongo, Hon. Akans Talpack, Hon. Vincent Arings, Commander Garry Matiyek (Rtd) and others.
