In his burning desire to encourage creativity, innovation and technology, the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Rep. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D today Thursday 16th January, 2020 received Members of “The Plateau Creativity Industry” Conference Team.

The Federal Lawmaker expressed excitement with the team’s visit but lamented how talents are developed in Plateau State yet always drained of talents when such persons leave the State to develop other States.

Dr. Simon Mwadkwon posited that the Creativity industry has huge potentials to the youths yet to be harnessed and requires enabling environment to thrive.

“We must recognize our talents and make great use of same. There is need for Plateau State to patronize the talents in the State” Dr. Mwadkwon said. He appealed to Plateau State Government and Citizens to give greater patronage and attention to talents in the State.

He said Plateau State has made many great Legends in sports, technology, entertainment etc but their impacts are not currently being felt in the State.

He said Plateau State has contributed a lot to the growth and development of Nigeria, yet the benefits of its contribution has been transferred to other States or Countries.

He charged the youths to discover their talents and put them to effective use for human and societal transformation.
He said he is ready to partner and support meaningful, viable and progressive platforms.

Leader of the Plateau Creativity Industry Conference, Mr. Luka J. Dawasin thanked the Lawmaker for granting them audience and said they visited to intimate him of the proposed conference which will hold soon in Jos, Plateau State Capital.

He said the Conference is aimed at building a self sustaining industry.

Mr. Dawasin said Plateau State is the hub of creativity in Nigeria and the proposed conference is aimed at bringing creative people together to see how their talents can be maximized to benefit the State and Nation at large.

He said the team is working on a Bill for presentation to PLHA to create a platform for a Creative Industry that will benefit the youths.
