Rep. Dr. Simon Mwadkwon has called on the Berom and other Nationalities in Plateau State to be united, promoters of peace and harmonious living in the State.
He said with peace and unity, progress and development are inevitable. He said genuine progress, growth and development can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and when the people are united.
Dr. Mwadkwon also charged the people to be security conscious, vigilant and alert as well as assist with useful intelligence information to appropriate authorities in order to stem the rising insecurity that has become a national threat.
While calling on Traditional, religious and political leaders to focus on serving the people right, he admonished the youths to shun tendencies that are capable of destroying their future and destinies.
He called on the people of Plateau State to be more vigilant considering how Boko Haram is now targeting indigenes of the State for abduction and execution. He said Plateau Indigenes are now endangered species and prime targets of the terrorist Boko Haram Group.
He urged the people to intensify prayers for the release of Miss Lilian Gyang Daniel a Student of University of Maiduguri from Foron District B/Ladi and Bashir Abdulhamid a Staff of Primary Health Care Department from Kanam LGA who were abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram while praying for the repose of the souls of those killed.
Rep. Mwadkwon who was represented by Cmr. Friday Bako made the disclosures at the 2020 Jogo Shei-Pas Kabong Jos North LGA.
He congratulated the Dagwom Rwei Kabong District, HRH Da Justice (Rtr) Gabriel Sha OFR for the historic event whom he said should be supported, encouraged and sustained by all meaningful citizens within and outside the District.
The occasion which held at GSS Kabong Jos North LGA was well attended by traditional, religious, political leader, BECO National President/Jos North Chairman, BYM President, Elders, youths, illustrious sons/daughters of the Berom Nation, Cultural troops of other Nationalities and other tribes residing in the area.
