Rep. Peter Gyendeng Trains and Empowers Over 200 Constituents on Agro-production, Assures of Prioritizing Empowerment

Hon. Peter Ibrahim Gyendeng the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency in the National Assembly has assured his Constituents of his commitment and passion to ensure that they are empowered to make them both financially and economically stable in order for them to achieve their full potentials at appreciable levels.
The Federal Lawmaker dropped the cheering news to his Constituents at the end of the training of over 200 Youths and Women in various Agro-production and empowerment with starter packs he organized in collaboration with College of Animal Health (CAH) Consultancy National Veterinary Research Institute Vom Plateau State and SAMEC Nigeria Company Limited.

Participants for the training and empowerment programme which held at Vo Pye Resort Barkin Ladi were drawn across the Federal Constituency.

Hon. Gyendeng hinted that he is poised to accord the needed priority to empowerment to significantly reduce to the poverty being experienced on account of the economic hardships.
He admonished the Participants to take the training seriously, domesticate the lessons learnt on agro-business and ensure they make effective use of the starter packs given to them which is aimed at making them financial stable.
“What we are doing here today is to train and empower you to have a stream of income that will sustain you. We appeal to you not to sell the starter packs giving to you but put them to good use. We are aware that our Constituency is an agrarian one and we must key into the agricultural potentials therein. Putting into consideration the roles played by Women and youths to socioeconomic development, it is important that they are trained and empowered to achieve greatness” he said.
He appreciated the Constituents for the confidence reposed in him through the mandate given to him to serve as their Representative and promised not to disappoint them but justify same by attracting dividends of democracy to their doorsteps in line with his campaign promises. He said better days are ahead as he come up with greater empowerment programmes and attract infrastructural development to the People.
He commended his Predecessor, Senator Simon Mwadkwon for the supportive role he played to make the programme a huge success.

Member representing Riyom Constituency at the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Dantong lauded the gesture of Hon. Peter Gyendeng and for putting smiles on the faces of the Constituents.

The Management Committee Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Council, Hon. Danjuma Dakim appreciated the Federal Lawmaker for the timely training and empowerment which he said has the propensity to ameliorate the sufferings being faced by the people.

The Managing Director of CAH Consultancy LTD Alhaji Iliyasu Manu applauded the Lawmaker for prioritizing human capital development and charged the Participants not to sell the starter packs distributed to them but use them to be self reliant which is the core objective of the training and empowerment. He said so far, the Federal Lawmaker has trained more Constituents.

While making his presentation on “General tips on animal based health management and practice” the Provost Federal College of Animal health and Production Technology Vom Plateau State, Dr. Jude Okpara disclosed that for the beneficiaries to obtain huge benefit from the training and empowerment, they must abide by the rules and regulations guiding the practice.

Other seasoned Experts in Animal Production presented papers on vocational training, bull, ram and buck fattening, as well as fish production.

Some Beneficiaries Mary James and Ibrahim Arab who couldn’t hide their joy appreciated the Lawmaker for the intervention and promised to put the lessons learnt from the training and make good use of the starter packs given to them.

Highlights of the programme include the presentation of starter packs, certificates of participation and cash to the Participants.
