Rep. Komsol Says Plateau Rep. Caucus on Prof. Maimako’s Case

The Member representing Shendam/Qua’anpan/Mikang Federal Constituency Plateau State, Rep. Alphonsus Longgap has said the House of Representatives Caucus from Plateau State is doing its best to amicably resolved the issue concerning the House of Reps. Committee on Federal Character and the Vice Chancellor of University of Jos, Prof. Sebastine Maimako.

This was contained in a Press Text signed by the Federal Lawmaker as shown below:

UNIJOS VC Vs HOUSE OF REPS COMMITTEE ON FEDERAL CHARACTER.

My attention has been drawn to a video making the rounds on social media over the incidence between the Vice Chancellor of University of Jos, Prof. S.S. Maimako and the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Character Commission on the employment profile in the University.

I am not oblivious of the agitations of my constituents and the entirety of Plateau people and the ”alleged” witch-hunt by the House Committee on the Vice Chancellor and Plateau people.

Despite being Prof. S. S Maimako’s representative in the House of Representatives, I do not wish to in any way, interfere with the committee’s proceedings and oversight function prescribed by the house standing rules.

However, Plateau people may wish to note that there’s no any form of witch hunt on the Vice Chancellor, as the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Character is investigating all patterns of employment in all Federal Establishments in the Federation, to ascertain the level of compliance with Federal character rule by all MDA’s of Government in Nigeria, with a view to overhauling the entire process to ensure justice for all, including Plateau people.

Hon.Komsol A. Longgap
Consequently, the entire House of Representatives caucus in Plateau State including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Idris Ahmed Wase, who by God’s Grace, is a Plateau son, is in touch with the Committee members to ensure that our own, Prof. S.S Maimako is exonerated.

On this note, my peace loving constituents and the entire Plateau people are all encouraged to remain calm and avoid making unnecessary social media posts capable of aggravating the situation at hand.

You can be rest assured of our renewed commitments to the Plateau project as your representatives in the National Assembly, as you did not in any way, make mistakes by sending us to represent you and represent you well.

Thank you.

Hon. Komsol A. Longgap.
Member,
Representing Shendam, Qua’an-Pan and Mikang Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives,
Abuja.
