Rep. I. D. Gyang Emerges PDP Plateau North Senatorial Candidate
Barr. Dr. I. D. Gyang, the Member Representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency at the National Assembly has been declared the winner of the PDP Primaries of Plateau Northern Zone.
Barr. I. D. Gyang pulled 442 Votes to defeat his opponent, Amb. Chris Giwa who scored 291 Votes to clinch the Senate ticket.
A total of 747 Delegates made up the Senatorial District in the Primaries.
Before accreditation, three Aspirants were in the contest but one, Da Francis Bot withdrew from the contest and asked his supporters to vote Barr. Dr. I. D. Gyang.
Breakdowns of the number of delegates from the Six LGAs are as follows:
Total Delegates for the Election were 747 and breakdowns according to Local Government Areas are as follows:
1. B/Ladi – 119
2. Riyom – 107
3. Jos East – 104
4. Bassa – 157
5. Jos South – 120
6. Jos North – 140
7 invalid votes were recorded.
The Chairman of the Election, Maj. Gen. Yakubu Usman declared Barr. Dr. I. D. Gyang the Winner having scored the highest votes.
The Election took place at Langfield Leisure Park Little Rayfield Jos, Plateau State under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
