Rep. I. D. Gyang Convenes Plateau North Caucus Meeting, Harps on Unity, Peace and Social Justice

The Member Representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency at the National Assembly and PDP Senate Candidate Plateau North, Rep. Barr. I. D. Gyang has made a call on the people of Plateau Northern Zone to unite, promote peace and contribute immensely to the socioeconomic development of the Zone.
He lamented the prolonged unrest, violent attacks and killing which has stagnated and retarded socio-economic growth of the zone and called for a rethink and resolve by the people to embrace peace and make peace happen. In essence, translate all the Peace engagements, dialogues and resolutions into practical peace.

Rep Gyang posited further that although Plateau North seems to have attracted negative publicity, most of which is informed by prejudice and misinformation, time has come for the zone and indeed the state to be known for what they are best known for, a hospitable, industrious and enterprising people coexisting harmoniously and peacefully. He made this call at the Caucus meeting held on Monday 12/11/18.

Rep. I. D. Gyang used the occasion to appreciate the massive support accorded him by the people of the Zone to clinch the PDP Senate Ticket at the Primaries and assured the stakeholders that it shall be reciprocated with optimal, effective, credible and result oriented representation in the Red Chamber God willing.

He pointed out that the people shall be the center piece of his agenda which shall be “PEOPLE BASED, PEOPLE DRIVEN & PEOPLE IMPACTING.”
He submitted that he STANDS WITH THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE.
Rep Gyang said he shall deploy all his legislative experience in the Green Chamber and bring it to bear in the Red Chamber when elected. He equally stated that the plurality and diversity of Plateau North were to him, assets and not liabilities. All that is needed is the capacity and sincerity to effectively harness and manage it for positive results and outcomes.
He assured that his generation will not be caged by inherited cleavages but shall insist and endeavor to chart a new course for Plateau North.
He therefore affirmed that in pursuit of social justice, citizenship rights and customary rights shall be accorded respect and the principle of DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WANT TO BE DONE TO YOU shall be advocated.

On the need to build team spirit, Rep Gyang informed the Caucus that he has reached out to those who contested with him with a view to having a united front and cultivate the spirit of togetherness and oneness.

Chairman of the Meeting and Member in the 6th and 7th National Assembly for Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Rep. Bitrus Kaze welcomed members and said he is elated to be spearheading the meeting which he said will see to the actualization of a more united and prosperous Zone.

Rep. Kaze lauded the idea by Rep. I. D. Gyang and said it is timely and will give the Zone as well as the people sense of direction as it regards to governance and effective representation. He urged those present to be free and honest in their submissions.

The meeting brought together Candidates of the PDP across the Zone, former Chairmen and House of Assembly Members, present and past Local Government Party Chairmen/Secretaries, his Coordination Directorate, some Chairmanship Candidates of the Zone, Zonal Executives of PDP, Ward Chairmen and other critical stakeholders of the Zone.

Those who spoke lauded the initiative by Rep. I. D. Gyang and said they are ready to work for his emergence at the general elections and contribute their quota to the development of the Zone, State and Nation at large.

They promised to be united and promote peaceful coexistence.

The meeting held at Rockfield Motel Little Rayfield and was well attended.
