Viewpoint Nigeria on 27th June, 2017 reported the official launch of “Bring Back Our Land” Campaign by the Convener, Rep. I. D. Gyang, member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

Today, Barr. Dr. I. D. Gyang released the objective and mission of the group to the public.

It should be noted that the Campaign has started mass media engagements using the various social media platforms.

Below is the objective and mission made available to Viewpoint Nigeria by the Convener:

#BRING BACK OUR LAND (#BBOL)

OBJECTIVE & MISSION:
The #BBOL is a CALL and ADVOCACY that  places DEMAND on the Nigerian government for the full restoration, resettlement and reintegration of all persons and communities displaced  from their ancestral lands and habitats by violent herdsmen attacks.

This is anchored on the fact that the government has the primary constitutional responsibility to protect and secure lives and property of citizens.
The government has a duty to stop and bring an end to the killings and resettle all displaced persons on their ancestral land.
The government also has the responsibility to assist the displaced persons in reconstructing their destroyed homes and to ensure their safety.

This is the demand and mission of #BBOL.

YOUR ROLE AS AN #BBOL ADVOCATE:
What is required of individuals and groups is to become advocates of #BBOL by lending a VOICE to the call to speak out in demand for the realisation of the objective and mission of #BBOL.

To this end, you are to take ownership and responsibility in becoming a VOICE and an ADVOCATE of #BBOL.

As an #BBOL ADVOCATE , you are to use every available platform at your disposal to undertake among others, the following:

1). Speak and cry out loudly in promoting the objective and mission of #BBOL
2). Propagate, broadcast and publish widely the #BBOL Hashtag and message on social media and any other media platform.
3). Engage in the promotion and sensitization of individuals, groups, institutions, Civil Society, Non Governmental Associations (NGOs), Community Based Associations (CBOs) as well as the International community on the objective and mission of #BBOL.
4). Undertake such awareness that will create and sustain the #BBOL Advocacy in the consciousness of the nation and International community until the objective and mission is fully achieved and lasting peace attained.
5). Join the NETWORK of #BBOL Advocates by creating and or joining teams in your neighbourhood, professional group, association and work place, etc to propagate and advance the #BBOL objective and mission.
